Okay so there is this really fantastic organization I've been wanting to spread the word about. MusicSavesLives is an organization that reaches out to young people to spread the word about blood donation and how important it is. They sponsor blood drives across the country. When you go to a MusicSavesLives blood drive, you get awesome stuff for giving to your community, such as VIP passes to Warped Tour or free music to download. Follow them on twitter for more updates.
Next I plan on FINALLY getting to the local camera shop so I can buy a new one! I'm looking for a DSLR. I want something pretty basic but still good quality. I have my eye on this one.
If any of you use a digital SLR and you like it, please let me know what kind!

I went shopping the other day and bought a pair of sandals that I really love. I wanted something similar to the gladiator sandal, but not as high up the leg.
All summer long I've been listening to The Secret Handshake's new cd, "My Name Up in Lights." Luis Dubuc is a great guy who writes songs that will make you want to get up and dance.
On a side note: sandals (Payless), Secret Handshake (itunes or Hot Topic)
So, I've finally had a taste of summer and It's been good to me so far. Today I went and got my senior pictures done (scary, isn't it?) Even though June has been good, I still have a lot more to accomplish. Lately, I've been in love with floral patterns. Especially, this dress I wear practically for every occasion (cough senior pictures cough).
Then there's my floral purse which has been my constant companion since I bought it about a month ago.
I have a plethora of items calling my purse home lately; including my summer reading homework and my Obama/Biden campaign my mom bought for me at a junk shop.
On a side note: dress(Target), cardigan(Old Navy),converse(??), purse (Old Navy)
Yay! Summer is finally here. I have to say, it's only been 3 days, but I can tell this summer will be a good one. Here's a little art I did during my last week of school.
It's based on this piece by Toulouse Lautrec
Speaking of summer, I also got a new summer haircut:
This is the reason why I have not been writing lately. As you can see, I was so frustrated I ripped my periodic table in half. oops. Yes, you are seeing correctly, there are 115 problems on this review. BAH! I'll be back to reality June 2nd.
Last Thursday I finally was inducted into the International Thespian Society! Of course, I needed to wear a dress. (Which I secretly love) Some people where dressed very over the top but I was going more "casual." I really love the detailing on this dress.
Well, Spring Break was a couple of weeks ago and it was fabulous. I went to Chicago for a few days and I fell in love with that city. I went to a couple of colleges and it has pushed me into this type of "collegiate" mode. Here are some pictures from break.
It's been a terribly long time since I've blogged and the only thing I can blame my absence on is this little thing called SCHOOL. boo.
Well, yesterday happened to be my birthday (: Very uneventful. I am now counting down the days until I will be considered an adult in this world.
I have to say I am not by any means artistic but I love studying art and I did paint a pottery piece just for fun the other day.
This piece is Michelangelo's Pieta. Pieta in English means pain. This was Michelangelo's first sculpture he had ever done and I think the message is so powerful. The drapery is so beautiful and the emotion caught here is so strong. The piece on the right his Michelangelo's Last Pieta. He started carving it 6 days before he died. It's so fascinating because it is unfinished there can be so many ways to interpret this piece.
Here's my little porky!! :D I made him on saturday at the painted zebra.
Last but not least.. Tuesday we had to film a video for spanish class. And Phootobooth is REALLY fun :P
Oh hello there! I guess you could say i've been a so called "blog lurker" for a while now. Lately, I became inspired to start blogging myself.
I thought the first post post should go to this great band, whom I completely admire. Phantom Planet has been around since 1994 ( I was only 2 at the time!). So, unfortunately I haven't been
able to appreciate their music for as long as I have wanted. I have been extremely lucky and have been able to go to 3 of their shows this past year. The were some of the best times of my life (no exaggeration here). After all these good times and excited for so many more with them.. I found out some heartbreaking news. On November 25, 2008, Phantom Planet announced their "indefinite hiatus". OH NO!!! This could not be possible!! I was saddened and shocked by this news. But, even if they are no longer playing together I would still want to spread the love of Phantom Planet and their silly antics.
The picture above is a picture of myself and lead singer Alex Greenwald in August at the Pageant in Saint Louis. Below is earlier in the year in May when they opened for Panic at the Disco. (You can see I have an infatuation with Alex)
Below is the acoustic "gathering" after the show in August. It was the most incredible experience ever. It was so intimate, there was no more than 25 people sitting around. Alex was playing the mandolin which put a beautiful new spin on the songs. Jeff and Darren were also there either filming or helping with harmonies. It was such a chill vibe and I can say they are the most down to earth people I have ever met.
This is just one of the reasons why I love them. They are absolutely ridiculous.
Well.. I thought this called for a list of 10 men. My friends and I always sing the song but have yet to compose a list.
